Awards and Honors

In 1988, 1990, 1992, 1993, 1995 and 1997 was the winner of the prestigious Brazilian Music Award in the category of best singer.

In 2004, Som Livre Tim released the album Soul Tim: Duetos, where several artists, such as Luiz Melodia, Fat Family, and Claudinho Buchecha, posthumous duets performed (by using technological devices, similar to the recording of "Unforgettable" by Nat King Cole and daughter Natalie Cole).

In January 2001, guitarist Robin Finck of Guns N 'Roses played a version of "Sossego during the band's performance at Rock In Rio III.

In 2007, Globo Network special honored Tim on Por Toda Minha Vida.

Also in 2007, journalist and music producer Nelson Motta, a friend and fan of Tim, launched the bestselling "Vale Tudo - O Som e a Fúria de Tim Maia" (by Editora Objetiva). In 2009, the program was honored with the participation of Som Brasil with Leo Maia, Seu Jorge, Thalma de Freitas, Marku Ribas, Carlos DAFE, Taryn Spielman and the band Institute.
